The vehicle

Why a Cybertruck?

Because the desert is hard on vehicles and harder on schedules. Stainless steel, all-wheel drive, off-road mode, and a climate-controlled cabin that turns a 4 hour shuttle into the best part of the trip.

🔒
6 ft locked, covered bed + shell

Luggage, skis, kayaks, bikes and camp gear ride secure and dry in the locking covered bed with its weatherproof shell, plus a lockable front trunk.

📡
Starlink Wi-Fi on board

Real internet the whole ride, even in the canyons. Work, stream, or send the group chat jealous photos.

🔥
Roomy heated seats, front and back

Five adults stretch out. Winter mornings start warm; summer afternoons stay icy cool.

❄️
Snow tires + off-road mode

Yes, it's good in the snow. Storms over Soldier Summit and dirt roads to remote trailheads are what this truck is for.

🤖
Full Self-Driving assisted

Supervised FSD smooths the long highway miles; a professional human is at the wheel the whole way. Come nerd out about it.

More than a ride

Your Moab insider, behind the wheel

Ten years of driving this desert means the ride comes with the local download. Tell us what kind of trip you want and we'll point you right.

  • Restaurant, brewery and coffee picks that match your crew, not a top-10 list
  • Trail and viewpoint suggestions timed to light, heat and crowds
  • Connections to rafting, 4x4, canyoneering and stargazing tour operators we trust
  • Grocery, gear-shop and river-shuttle logistics handled on the way
  • First time in Moab? We'll orient you in one drive and build you an itinerary
Last-minute? Good.

Flight changed, trip re-planned, one more canyon you have to see. Custom and same-day requests are welcome here, not an inconvenience.

Meet Shane

CyberTaxi is owner-operated: the guy who answers your text is the guy who loads your bags. Shane has 10 years and 30,000+ rides of professional driving across Utah, from Main Street Moab to Salt Lake, Park City and Heber, and went all-in on Tesla long before the Cybertruck made it look easy.

Ask him anything on the drive: trail beta, flight math, what the truck can really do, or which viewpoint is worth a sunrise. He's also a working musician, which explains the sound system.

Shuttle routes people ask for

Moab ⇄ Salt Lake City Airport (SLC)

The workhorse run: 235 miles, about 3 hr 45 min door to door. Private Cybertruck beats the shared van for groups, gear and dawn flights, and we track your flight so a delay never strands you. Park City, Heber and Midway drop-offs available on the same run.

Moab ⇄ Grand Junction Airport (GJT)

The closest major airport to Moab: 110 miles, about 1 hr 45. More flights, better fares, easy add-on pickup for arriving friends. We meet you at baggage claim with your name up.

Moab ⇄ Denver area

Long haul, handled: about 5.5 hours through some of the best scenery in Colorado, with Starlink Wi-Fi so the drive is productive or cinematic, your call. Airport-bound? We take you as close as permits allow and set up your quick final hop.

Moab ⇄ Las Vegas area

Private long-distance ride between red rock and the Strip, about 6.5 hours. Popular for bachelor/bachelorette handoffs and one-way park road trips; airport final hop arranged for you.

Moab ⇄ Phoenix area

Snowbird special: the full desert traverse, about 7 hours, through Monument Valley country if you want the scenic line. We bring you to the edge of Sky Harbor and have your final-hop rideshare waiting.

Moab ⇄ Montrose / Telluride & Green River Amtrak

Long-distance rides connect canyon country to Telluride country in about 2.5 hours. Amtrak's California Zephyr stops at Green River, 55 minutes out; we meet every train.

FAQ

Is there Uber or Lyft in Moab?
Barely, and never when you need it: 5 am flights, late nights, shoulder season. CyberTaxi is a scheduled private ride with your name on the calendar. Comparing prices? On Uber or Lyft, scroll to their "Premier" or "Black" tier; that's the class of service a reserved private Cybertruck matches, without the surge pricing.
"Why's it so expensive??"
Fair question. A reserved airport run blocks about 3 hours of the driver's day before the next ride, guaranteed on your schedule, not luck-of-the-ping like a ridehail. You're buying certainty: the truck is there, on time, every time, with your flight tracked. Split five ways, it's usually cheaper than shared-van seats anyway.
How far ahead should I book?
Airport transfers: 48 hours is comfortable, a week is better in peak season (March to October). But text anyway: last-minute is welcome, and if the truck is free, it rolls.
How many people and bags fit?
Five riders in the Cybertruck, with a 6-foot covered locking bed that swallows luggage, skis, bikes and camp gear, plus a front trunk. Six riders? We pair up with a 6-passenger Tesla Model Y.
What about winter driving?
Snow tires, all-wheel drive, off-road mode and a driver with 10 winters of Soldier Summit and La Sal storms. Yes, it's good in the snow; there's video up in The Truck section to prove it.
How do I pay?
Right now: Venmo (@TheSimpleGig), cash, or all major cards in the truck. Secure online card checkout is coming soon. No booking fees, ever. Cancel free up to 24 hours out.
Do you do tours, or just rides?
Both. Hourly charters ($100/hr) work like a private tour: your driver waits, repositions and narrates as much or as little as you like. For guided rafting, 4x4 or canyoneering, we'll connect you with Moab outfitters we trust and handle the transportation ends.
